MSNBC’s Ed Schultz Defendant in Federal Lawsuit
I don't know what to make of this. He just discussed it briefly on his show. Note that the "article" is a press release, presumably from Michael Queen's lawyer, so it may not be objective.

Ed Schultz, host of MSNBC’s “The Ed Show” and self-proclaimed champion of labor unions and workers’ rights, is named in a federal lawsuit filed by his former partner and labor union official, Michael Queen of NBC. Schultz is accused of fraud, breach of contract and other charges stemming from efforts to bring his talents to television.

I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt until we know more about this.

1. Looks like a money grab
Queen's key witness is Tim Russert. Epic fail.

2. No telling if the court will deem the case to have merit.

Reeks of bitterness to me, but who knows?

Queen kinda sounds a tad loony, but that's just my opinion.

3. Is this more about an attempt to "Silence the Opposition"?

6. And it will work for awhile because while the lawsuit is
in court the judges will often issue a gag order and they won't be able to talk about it on air.

5. Well, Randi Rhodes got sued for something similar
and won because it was basically a witch hunt. I suppose Big Ed's opinions and political bent are not popular among the corporate class and law suits are one way that they have to silence voices that expose them.

8. I don't think this is an attempt by the right to silence him.

According to the article, Queen is Schultz's former partner and a labor union official. I think this may be just what it appears to be: a disagreement over a prior oral agreement and an attempt by Queen to get money that he feels he is owed (or at least believes he can get).

In any case, I don't see how any of this would stop Schultz from expressing his political opinions on air.
