If the wealthy create the jobs,
and the Bush tax cuts help keep the wealthy...well, wealthy, then why is the unemployment rate so high? If the original statement is true, then there should be more jobs, right? If the statement is false, then the tax cuts should be stopped. I'm not much smarter than the average bear, but it looks pretty simple to me.

1. Clinton RAISED taxes and created 22 million jobs more than Bush who DROPPED taxes.
Edited on Sun May-15-11 11:11 PM by ErikJ
CLinton raised taxes 5% in his 1st year or 2 and had an economic boom. He even ended his 2nd term with 2 budget surplises!
Bush dropped taxes on the rich by 5% and they used that money for buying liar loans creating as housing bubble. Bush net job growth was zero.

2. Its EXACTLY that simple.
Republican ideology continues to fail over and over and over again, yet they keep trying the same things and wishing for different results. They just can never admit when they're wrong. Its a mental disorder.

18. You tell me. Does this make economic sense?
http://www.zerohedge.com/article/gm-spend-109-million-preserve-96-michigan-jobs

"General Motors will invest $109 million in its operations in Flint and Bay City , Mich., to support engine production for current and future fuel-efficient small cars produced for the U.S. market. The investment will protect or add 96 jobs at the two sites."

They just never promised those jobs would be in this country.

4. I need Cliff Notes to keep up with all the Repugs are doing...
just short but sweet talking points for ultra-conservative friends.

KISS should be the catch-phrase. No long arguments are needed because "their" logic is so illogical.

9.  Proletariat demand creates the most jobs.
If a supply-sider should suddenly come ( even more ) awash in cash, he'd have no logical reason to expand his business without the demand a prosperous working class would provide. As it is now, he'd be just that much richer in a that much poorer country. Status quo suits him just fine.

12. of course they create jobs, otherwise my president would
have veto'd the tax cuts then, no?

We are just rolling in jobs, no one is in poverty (well, at least no one that matters).

13. The wealthy provide capital for jobs. But they need a return on the job created or it doesn't make
Economic sense.

They aren't going to provide jobs out of charity or for the heck of it.

Well paid jobs, too, with lots of benefits.

19. Maybe because jobs are not
created for the sake of creating jobs, but are created when needed?
If one painter can paint my house, I would not hire six more painters to help him.
