Gov. Rick Scott shifts money from unemployment checks to corporations
http://www.allvoices.com/contributed-news/9018942-gov-rick-scott-shifts-money-from-unemployment-checks-to-corporations

May 9, 2011 - Republican Florida Governor Rick Scott is shifting state money from the unemployed to corporations. New legislation will cut benefits for the unemployed to just 23 weeks, the lowest in America. The money taken from the unemployment insurance program will be given to corporations in the form of tax cuts.

"As the National Employment Law Project pointed out, with this bill, Florida will "go further than any other state in dismantling its unemployment insurance system," according to Think Progress.

Scott suggests that cutting unemployment benefits will encourage people to go back to work. The premise implies that the unemployed are lazy and would rather collect a maximum of about $250 a week, rather than work.

Scott's concept that the unemployed are lazy does not take into account the fact that may Floridian's simply cannot find a job.

3. At least he's a smart crook
Here in Georgia, we've also got a crook for a governor, but he's so dumb he doesn't have anything to show for it except his bankruptcy filings.

4. I would take ANY job right now.
I've applied for many including part-time minimum wage jobs.

I have never been unemployed before. Never. Worked since I was 15 (51 now).

Every person I know in the same situation is desperately looking. When I get feedback, I'm told that hundreds are applying off of a simple CraigsList posting (I live in a small town - Must be thousands for a major city).

Scott is evil. Unemployment is boring. I'm about to lose my mind.

5. How many JOBS has Mr. Scott created?
If he hasn't cut jobs, he has lined the pockets of the corporations, who have created HOW MANY jobs?
