I just got an idea of what to do with my zillions of Mardi Gras beads
Pass them out to everyone protesting at the next Newt Gingrich rally near me, so we can all be wearing "commoners' bling" when we picket him and his bribe-taking wife.

4. It's pretty hard to avoid them if you go to a MG parade
I was actually at a couple of family-friendly parades (not in New Orleans), and ended up with quite a few strands of the darned things.

In my case, at least, having a ton of Mardi Gras beads is not much of a predictor of fun-ness at parties -- unless you are partial to old guys who like to talk about obscure music.

5. I live in New Orleans...
...and they are everywhere. We hang them all over our fence, and they are colorful. Eventually, however, they weather...and then they start to look like OIL. Which of course, is what they were made from.

9. No more than thousands of other small items used in everyday life that could possibly
find their way to the waterfronts & not by intentional means, but through weather activity.

Just wanted to point that out.
