2. Goodness, that looks like an air-burst nuclear weapon hit Joplin.
Reminds me of aerial shots of Hiroshima.

Those poor people. It is simply amazing that there was not a much higher casualty rate.

When I first heard it I thought it was a bit overdramatic.

they're now saying it was over a mile wide.

It simply erased everything in its path. It's going to take Joplin decades to recover. If it does.

10. I think Joplin will recover sooner than you think
I was there a year after the '71 tornado and they had already cleaned up from that. Of course, there was more damage this time, but I think Joplin will recover within 10 years, if not sooner.

11. The economy was very different in 71
and Cantor was in grammar school cheating on tests and wishing he were old enough to read Ayn Rand.
