A simple question: Are the Republicans really FOR anything?
Besides their own enrichment, I mean.

Everywhere I look, I see nothing but negativity from them. I guess what triggered me was seeing the post about the San Joaquin River.

They deny women the right to choose. They deny our need for clean water, clean air, safe food and medicines...

ALL negative.

Do they see anything in a positive light?

25. The seven deadly sins as I learned in Sunday school;
wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy and gluttony.

You're right. The number is seven.

Maybe you think my question is trivial...

And maybe it is.

But I am serious.

10. I was kidding (kinda)
they are for corporations over people, and their own selfish interests of course. That is fairly easy to see for those that pay attention.

12. Ah, I thought so...
And yes, I have been paying attention. I just was having a hard time believing that there was nothing they really supported.

Outside of satisfying their own greed, of course.

Simply because where not the mega rich assholes with corpulent rear ends that they're always trying to kiss.

With that said, everything else be damned in their books.

That's where their "policies" are taking us.

16. They're For Enriching Their Already-Rich Buddies At Any Cost, But Not Much Else
Republicans are all about making rich people richer and poor people dead (and we all know that the definition of "poor" is anyone who's not rich; and we all know what the definition of "rich" is, right, Grampy McCain?) Well, maybe not dead, but at least ineffectual, powerless, and silent. I think if Republicans could pass a law making it mandatory that all the poor people labor day and night, for no pay whatsoever, in the service of the rich, they'd pass it unanimously.

I say this as an objective (Canadian) outside observer. It's blatantly obvious that the GOP will do whatever it takes to keep Americans miserable until November of next year.

21. oh come on, we really ought to give them some credit
As you said, they're for restrictions on a woman's right to choose, although I wonder whether, in many cases, that's just to ensure re-election. But they're also in favor of the rights of insurance companies, and companies in general, to make lots of money. And they're in favor of telling other people that they need to live the way they tell them to live. And they're big proponents of putting their fingers in their ears and going "la la la I can't hear you" when anybody mentions global warming.

And most of all, and most undeniably, they're for tax breaks for the wealthy.

They're in favor of a lot of things.

They're in favor of a lot of things....that hurt us.

Edited on Fri Jun-03-11 05:48 AM by Enthusiast
no regulation, corporate welfare, a massive unaccountable military industrial complex, limiting voter participation, new segregation, health care for those that can afford it, mandatory prayer in school, 'small government' and extremely low or no taxes.

27. They are for privatizing everything on the planet.
They already own most of the good land.
Now they want to own the water and the air.
They are for charging every living soul fees to use what they own.

That is the sum total of their agenda.
Please don't ever forget this...
