Where are all the f*cking jobs??

We were told by Republicans that " You cannot raise
taxes on the job creators, or it will severly curtail job
growth"

Ok, almost 6 months have gone by now , I think we can ask
--Where are the jobs ???
If the jobs are not created--can we recoup the giveaway $$$$
to the top 1%???

Anybody have a good con-servative excuse/rebuttal to this one?

1. Someone needs to call out Kudlow on this
Maybe it will sink in with him, and his gang on CNBC.

2. Bush's tax cuts have been in place for over a decade
In that time we saw the greatest economic downturn since the great depression. Millions of jobs lost.

So we extend the tax cuts and we still have paltry job growth? Who could have possibly seen that one coming? :banghead:

Tax the wealthy and corporations at Eisenhower tax levels. Use the money to create jobs programs and infrastructure spending. If the wealthy and corporations won't spend their money, we should do it for them.

Corporations are flush with cash. How is cutting taxes and giving them more money gonna create jobs? They aren't creating jobs as it is while the sit on trillions in cash.

3. Maybe if they recited the Constitution again?
I thought for sure that would work to gain us full employment! Surely it wasn't just some stunt the new Republican House majority indulged to throw a bone to their Tea Bagger base. It was covered by all the popular media, so it must have had some substantive value to it. Although it's strange that the talking chuckleheads don't mention it very much anymore. Not at all, actually. Huh.

First, because there have been jobs created and second, because it is still way too early to give credit/blame to tax cuts and third, because the argument would be made that tax increases would have made things even worse than they are now.

Here are the job numbers from the establishment survey (in thousands of jobs)

Dec 2010 - 130,260
Jan 2011 - 130,328
Feb 2011 - 130,563
Mar 2011 - 130,757

jobs created at 3 month point - 497,000

Apr 2011 - 130,989
May 2011 - 131,043

jobs created in last two months - 286,000

Remember the glorious Clinton years?

Well, the economy lost 7,000 jobs in May 1995 and it lost 18,000 jobs in January 1996 and lost 7,000 jobs in August 1997 amd only gained 121,000 jobs in July 1998 only 71,000 in July 1995 and only 159,000 jobs in August 1993.

So I don't think a gain of 54,000 jobs is the end of the world as we know it.

The economy might be doing better if everyone was not so jumpy.

I noticed that the other Tuesday. On Saturday we had a tornado warning with sirens blowing for about an hour and nothing happening. On Sunday, nearby Joplin, Missouri got flattened. On Tuesday during Kiwanis it poured rain. I could see my fellow Kiwanians jumping a little every time a blast of wind and rain hit the windows. The recent tornado and tornado scare was making us all a little jumpy.

Well, the economy had a disaster recently and we are all still a little bit jumpy. The jumpiness doesn't help things. We can get through this, but we've got to stick together... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qu2uJWSZkck

7. I don't think you are going to get just an increase on the rich. The choice is to keep all the cuts
Or rescind them all.

9. I donno
But I heard a clip of Boner today saying that it sure is a good thing we gave all that money away to millionaires and billionaires and oil companies and such because that's the only reason we're as well off as we are. What a tool. I can't hear one sentence out of his mouth without cursing uncontrollably.
