3. I've been saying this for years.

I used to be one of those scummy rotten College Republicans that learned how to play this game (literally, I was being groomed for great things and got to go to all the best CR/CPAC shit on rich assholes' dime.) and I've been saying this for as long as I've been at DU. In response, certain touchy-feely navel-gazing sorts threatened to leave the Democratic Party if we ever started "playing the game" (these tend to be the "hold hands and sing Kumbaya/all conflict is evil." sorts), to them I say now as then "Good Riddance. Your sort won't be missed. Come back when you're mad as hell and not going to take it anymore!"

Now how do you want to start? I think we should set up some sort of ad-hoc reading list and a semi-formalized "school" for activism gamesmanship and am willing to take that task if you want me to. Your idea, you get to be bandleader: your call.
