Two parties in America: The Right Wing Party and the Far Right Wing Party
Well, it's pretty much all over except for the shouting. The Democratic Party led by the conservative Obama is caving to the far right Republicans without so much as a whimper. I guess it's hard to fight back against the destruction of the New Deal when even your own Party leader is pushing Republican talking-points and praising the other side while sneering at the dirty fucking hippies unhappy with his "leadership".

I guess I was hoping that the progressives in the House would finally show some spine and fight back against all this but they're as useful as a bucket of warm spit. I've been a registered Democrat for 36 years since I turned eighteen and grew up in a working class Democratic family but sometime today I will drop in to my local board of elections and change my party affiliation to Independent. This even though I'm moving out-of-state next month and will have to do it all over again.

Our government, the Congress, the Judiciary and the Executive doesn't represent regular working people anymore and we had best get used to it.

1. It is going to take a lot of people taking your action and withholding support of all kinds -
and even then, the party leaders may not get the message.

That is, if they are interested in hearing it at all.

2. Don't forget -- the DFH's are the reason 2012 will be another rout. That will be the party line.

I get so confused from the apologists. I started out being one of the "inconsequential 15%'ers" early on and now that this joke of a bill is actually going to pass it's going to be my awesome political power (if I choose to stay unmotivated) that causes us to lose big in 2 years again.

I guess you have to be ready to shift frames quickly to stay on the right page with the WH.

3. This has been true for those of us in the low income categories for decades.
Democrats who fought for workers and the poor instead of against them are long gone from this earth.

4. Someone needs to ask the question.
What will replace the Democratic Party in representing the people?
