6. A press release to an unknown message board, for a car as important as the Leaf?
Edited on Wed Dec-15-10 09:51 AM by DainBramaged
I have a bridge for you...do you even think that Nissan did that knowing GM had this occurring today? No pictures, no news in Automotive News, no press coverage??? And the Japanese press is here all over the car. Ants on a sugar cube.

Sure.

9. The Prius is a much better engineering option
Those electric cars are gimmicks - too expensive. They'll be bought by rich kids who want to look green, but cost wise they're a loser. It's like solar power, sure looks nice, but it's a big loser.

The very best option is a vehicle with a 4 cyl engine using a high efficiency fuel such as methanol, working in extended hybrid mode with a 20 mile battery range. Money is better spent on lighter materials and keeping the tires inflated.

As for solar power, it costs way too much. It's more sensible to develop electricity meters to tell us what's the market price for the electricity we use, and then price the electricity according to the source. When the wind is blowing strong and power is generated by wind, people can be charged less and therefore CO2 emissions are lowered. It's a sensible solution, not glamorous, and costs a lot less. But people do like their circus, don't they?

10. Yup, you have a clue.......the Chevy Volt has a gas engine to power a generator
Edited on Wed Dec-15-10 02:27 PM by DainBramaged
to continuously charge the battery and power the electric motors.

If you knew what you were talking about you'd have an engineering degree and be working in the industry to move the industry forward, instead of yapping on a message board.

PS methanol as a daily use fuel? You have GOT to be kidding. It SUCKS at gas millage. Great for horsepower because the charge is cooler than petroleum, but again, if you knew what you were talking about...
