and you thought that the Patriot Act was a threat?
Walmart and DHS join forces:

There's an app for that
http://www.examiner.com/blogosphere-buzz-in-national/patriotapp-creates-a-high-tech-snitch-network

Do I really need to list TSA issues?

The 1st 2 are encouraging a culture of "watch your fellow citizens" and/or "report your fellow citizens"...starting to sound familiar?

The Patriot Act - Republicans
the above 2 - Democrats

Starting to think that both parties would absolutely revel in it if the USA went from a representative republic to a totalitarian state.

1. "Ms. Napolitano, I saw Wal-Mart managers locking employees in the store!
Is they terrorists?"

3. I can't wait
until I buy:

- ammo (sorry but no one is even close when it comes to availability of my ammo of choice)
- fertilizer (can make a bomb you know)
- Coleman camp stove fuel or small propane tanks
or
- Godforbid a *gasp* firearm.

Helicopters overhead, SWAT teams in the parking lot backed up with armored vehicles.

2. As I posted on the Raw Story coverage of this story
Soon, we'll all be wearing green jumpsuits and doing mandatory morning calisthenics.

5. Yep and just like when I was in the military if you can't make the run they will make you run again.
This country has morphed into one scary place to live.

4. Actually, the unPATRIOTic Act was passed under a Dem majority,
Edited on Wed Dec-15-10 10:51 AM by ixion
and sponsored (and authored, I believe) by then Dem Joe LIEberman.

And was, in fact, the enabling document for DHS, TSA, etc.

6. That's not all this committee is up to...
The Protecting Cyberspace as a National Asset Act of 2010.

<http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=s111-3480>

Not real crazy about the timing and how it ironically coincides with the FCC coming forward with a policy proposal on net neutrality, which appears to have been designed to net some profits for familiar an unpopular corporate faces.
