Another first for metro Detroit: Bank robber's getaway car is a Toyota Prius

The FBI is hunting for two suspects involved in separate bank robberies today in Royal Oak and Southfield.

In the first robbery, a man is accused of robbing a Royal Oak bank this morning and fleeing with an unknown amount of cash.

The robbery happened at 11:40 a.m. at a Bank of America branch at 509 E. 13 Mile. The man brandished a handgun and fled in a silver Toyota Prius.

"He is armed and dangerous," FBI Special Agent Robert Beeckman said.
