4. The river that runs through Minot is flooding terribly.
Lots of news about this on Google News, so I won't post a long description of what's happening.

5. Record flooding up there
something like one-quarter of Minot residents have been evacuated. Meanwhile, farmers have been unable to finish planting their durum wheat, of which ND is the largest supplier. That's the wheat that goes into pasta.
