Marxism: the World is being run by the Marx Brothers...
No, really. The self-selection of Cheney as VeePee (Groucho in any of the films)...The Butterfly Ballot (Chico doing the contract with the 'sanity claus' - everyone knows there is no sanity claus)...The Supreme Court Selection of Junior (Groucho's selection of Alan Ladd in Night at the Opera)...The nightmare of our military 'response' on 9/11 and the aftermath and excuses (Duck Soup)...the "WMD" and the associated Correspondent's Dinner wherein Junior was 'looking for them'...Tora Bora (could be a name like 'Freedonia')...The selection and glorification of Palin - she of six colleges and names for her children or those not her children that defy common sense (think Professor Hackenabush)...the concomitant rise of the dangerous and oh-so-sociopathic "candidate" Bachmann (any villain in the films)...and finally: (are you kidding me? - say the magic word and win 100 dollars!) Fukushima..."The company known as TEPCO" (just like "the artist formerly known as Prince")...and lots more!

Who would "Fuk"ing believe this is all going on?

3. Oh, but were it true ...
... for the Marx brothers were quite benign.

4. Groucho sings a song in Horse Feathers (1932)
that represents the current Republican philosophy.

I don’t know what they have to say,
It makes no difference anyway --
Whatever it is, I’m against it!
No matter what it is or who commenced it,
I’m against it.

Your proposition may be good
But let’s have one thing understood --
Whatever it is, I’m against it!
And even when you’ve changed it or condensed it,
I’m against it.

I’m opposed to it --
On general principles I’m opposed to it!

Chorus: He’s opposed to it!
In fact, in word, in deed,
He’s opposed to it!

For months before my son was born,
I used to yell from night till morn,
Whatever it is, I’m against it!
And I’ve kept yelling since I first commenced it,
I’m against it!

Whatever It Is, I’m Against It, by Harry Ruby (music) and Bert Kalmar (lyrics)

5. Actually, with the Bush (mal)administration, I kept thinking of the Three Stooges

"Moronica for Morons" -- From You Nazty Spy 1940. It was the first Hollywood film to openly satirize Adolph Hitler and the Nazis, months before Charlie Chaplin's The Great Dictator was released.
