Obama folding before the cards are even dealt is not good strategy
Edited on Wed Dec-15-10 12:50 PM by quinnox
As that now famous cartoon showed, Obama folded his hand even before the cards were dealt around the table versus the republicans.

And now some of his more ardent supporters are trying to claim this as a victory.
AT a bare minimum Obama should have gotten a two years unemployment extension and emergency extensions for those that have already exhausted all benefits.

And if he had played his cards right, maybe he could have even gotten 5 years unemployment. Maybe he wouldn't have gotten that much, but the point is he didn't even TRY.

Obama said the tax cuts for the super rich was the "holy grail" for the republicans. He was right! Apparently thats all the republicans seem to care about. So in return for giving them the holy grail, we get a lousy one year extension of unemployment and a few other small bread crumbs?

For the holy grail we should have gotten something much more worthy and valuable in return methinks.

Sorry, Obama loyalists, this was no victory, but a humiliating defeat for Mr. Obama and sad to say the Democratic party as well.

I'm not happy to be a Democrat right now, more like ashamed.

4. Only 13.5% of the package was for the wealthy
That's not crumbs for the rest.
