Loughner was angered that "few people speak English"
Edited on Sun Jan-09-11 01:01 AM by Quixote1818

Snip> On both the MySpace and YouTube web pages, Loughner mentions his concern over literacy rates and the fact that few people speak English. He also talks about his distrust of the government and suggests that anyone can call anyone a terrorist.

This struck me knowing all the vitriol in Arizona about illegal immigration and Jan Brewer's recent anti-immigration laws. Hard to tell if he meant immigrants or was referring to some nutty conspiracy about the Gov. controlling language? He could be a paranoid schizophrenic and was seeing a lot of symbolism in language that simply was not there.

1. What does literacy have to do with what language you speak?
He wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer.

2. He was also obsessed with English grammar.
Very odd.

7. What's even stranger is how poor HIS grammar was
For example he didn't appear to know the difference between your and you're, he used them interchangeably.

3. It's impossible to tell, with so little information, if he's schizophrenic
but it wouldn't surprise me. We don't know yet if he hears voices, but he does seem to have a fixation (on the "current" government).

If he doesn't hear voices, he's got some other mental disorder.

I'm anxious to learn what it is.

6. Seems to be conflicting info or conflicting understanding of what he wrote -
- I read both the myspace and the youtube and he wrote about illiteracy and English grammar. However, I never read anything regarding immigration or that "few speak English". Maybe I missed it.

8. Or maybe they were just weird videos he made.
I have one on youtube of a clay demon rotating around to reggae music. I've written songs that, if they were taken literally, would paint me in a much dif. light than I or anyone who knows me sees.
