Honestly, I think he understood that Boner was owned by that little group. No matter what had been put on the table, The Orange One wouldn't accept it because it would cross his puppetmasters' "sharp ideological line".
And no, I don't think Obama's some "jedi-master genius playing nth dimensional chess". But I do think he's as smart as me. And If I could see after
years of exposure that these dickheads were more interested in posturing and chest thumping than manning up and doing their damned job, then I'm not so surprised that he could see that, too.
