LAPD doesn't like to be taunted

Riot police respond to rowdy film crowd in Hollywood

The premiere for a movie about a music festival with a controversial past got out of hand itself late Wednesday when thousands of people attempted to crash the Hollywood event, police said.

Crowds spilled into the street around Grauman's Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard, with some people throwing bottles at police. Witnesses said others were dancing on a police car, taunting officers and "planking" — lying down in the street. There were also sporadic fights among people in the crowd.

Police in riot gear shut down streets around the theater, and dozens of other officers in police cruisers responded to the disturbance.

"I knew it was going to get out of hand when they started taunting the police," said Adam Bloch, 20, who works in a building across from the theater. "They were asking for it."

13. Yeah. But they like collective punishment. A few throw bottles, they line up
close down the whole event, streets, pushing people as they go. It's happened before.

18. Could be tactics learned in the military.
Former military personnel hold a special place in the heart of police department recruiters across the U.S. The qualities of a great police officer are virtually identical to those of a great soldier: Both have a desire to serve their country and community and protect people and their rights. A career as a law-enforcement professional may appeal to those with military service because there are a variety of departments and specialties* to pursue, not unlike the military.

*too bad some of these specialties include more than arm twisting...

11. But you know if it was technically, humanly possible, they would.
But only after they looked me up to see what color I was, so they'd know whether to send 2 guys or 40. :scared:
