Bachmann: Questions about gay therapy are out of bounds

Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann Thursday refused to say if she thought reparative therapy could “change gay people into being straight” because it was not relevant to her campaign.

“Recent reporting has revealed the clinic you co-own with your husband engages in a kind of therapy that helps people get over their homosexuality,” National Press Club president Mark Hamrick told Bachmann. “Do you believe that reparative therapy can change gay people into being straight and has any federal funding gone for your clinic?”

“Well, I’m extremely proud of my husband and I have tremendous respect and admiration for him and we’ll celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary this coming September,” Bachmann began. “But I am running for the presidency of the United States.”

“My husband is not running for the presidency. Neither are my children, neither is our business, neither is our foster children,” she said. “I am more than happy to stand for questions on running for the presidency of the United States.”

“To be clear, you don’t believe your personal finances are something that should be questioned by the American people?” Hamrick asked.

“I am running for the presidency of the United States and I have no doubt that every jot and tittle of my life will be looked at and inspected prior to November 2012,” Bachmann replied.

13. Dog whistle, indeed.

Pretty much everything said by the wingers is some sort of in-group code.

(Edited because the subject line first read "God whistle, indeed". Talk about your Freudian typos!)

5. May The media put some emphasis on the payments and benefits that
she and her family have received from the taxpayers.

May they also look at the lack of actual performance that she has had in office despite her grandstanding.

May they also look at the earmarks that she has sought for her district.

And yes, may they also look at the quackery practiced by her husband and the federal payments they he has received for providing quack therapy.

Then they can start looking at her ignorance including but not limited to her stands on the issues.

Yeah, so my question would be that if she believes in the Bible, God and Jesus, then why hasn't she given up all of her money and all of her worldly possessions, and devoted the rest of her life to helping heal the poor and sick in impoverished nations, like Mother Theresa had?

Seems to me that would virtually cinch her a spot nearby her God in "High Heaven", as opposed to lying, cheating, worshipping false idols (money and the wealthy) defaming/insulting/accusing others, (bearing false witness against thy neighbor), and especially seeking to become elected and become one of the most powerful persons on Earth. Whatever happened to "the meek shall inherit the Earth" biblical humility, Megalomaniac Mushell??
