Blue Dog Democrats will have representation in their party's whip team when the 112th Congress convenes, a move that is an olive branch to conservative Democrats dissatisfied with their party leadership following last month's midterm elections.
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) announced Thursday that Utah Democratic Rep. Jim Matheson will join the Democrats' whip team.
"This Whip team has done a remarkable job keeping Democrats unified on the numerous challenges this Congress has addressed," Hoyer said in a statement.
"Jim Matheson will be a tremendous addition to my team, bringing a moderate voice to the table. His perspective reflects what we heard from Americans last month, when they clearly called for us to work to find common ground to move our country forward."http://voices.washingtonpost.com/44/2010/12/house-democrats-add-blue-dog-t.htmlSo Americans want Obama and Democrats to "find common ground" with Republicans, more bi-partisanshit. Of course they do. BBI
