Please sign petition: S&P threatened to downgrade the US credit rating if cuts were
not made to Social Security and Medicare to reduce the deficit.

Tell the SEC:
"Revoke Standard & Poor's NRSRO designation as a credit ratings agency for their attempts to influence the political debate over deficit reduction and to use their ratings as a weapon to avoid accountability for their role in the 2008 financial crisis."

4. This is ridiculous. Do you think we act like we deserve a AAA rating?
I'm thinking no.

8. What bond vigilantes?
They are predicted as often as the end of the world, and appear just as often.

10. Probably not, but what has that got to do with SS?
Explain please how SS has in any way created the deficit? It is a blatant lie to even try to connect the two. And the Credit Rating Agencies should have been prosecuted themselves for their involvement in the corruption that led us to the disastrous economy we are dealing with right now. They knowlingly gave triple A ratings to banks they knew were failing.

Considering their corrupt role in the biggest bank heist in history, is there any reason why anyone should care about their ratings right now?

7. Why would we listen to a company owned by Rupert Murdoch?
Edited on Sat Jul-30-11 02:31 AM by Rex
Not saying we don't deserve a downgrade, but this country has lost its fucking mind to listen to a just discovered (ha) criminal!

Is that how we roll now?

12. They have no credibility. How many AAA ratings did they give to poisoned mortgage-backed securities?
They fucked us over.
