9. Kennedy would likely have been right there with him

Even Robert Reich said that forced to say yes or no, he would have to support it. There was no realistic chance that there would be a better deal.

The vote was Monday at three, do you have any idea where Vicki Kennedy, who has, as much as anyone, been the keeper of Kennedy's legacy was at 8 pm that Wednesday? I do - as do many on the DU JK group. She was at a celebration of Kerry's 45 years of service - sitting at a table at Sympathy Hall with John and Teresa Kerry. (Laughing at the end when, Kerry, "for Teddy", followed in Teddy's footsteps conducting the Boston Pops - copying some of Teddy's "moves".)

My guess - Kennedy would be more concerned with all the MA residents who would lose benefits on Christmas Eve. In addition, he repeated in both 2004 and 2008, Kerry's and Obama's promise of NOT raising taxes on those below $250,000. The choice really was breaking that promise - or breaking the other. The Congress will be pushed to deal with the deficit - where the UI extension is real and helps for 13 months, it is likely that the entire tax code will change in the next year or two - making these tax cuts moot.

As to "voting with Brown" -- This is no fairer than saying of Sanders that he is voting with DeMint.
