US deserved to have Credit Rating downgraded
because the US as a nation is that family who lives in the 6000sf house valued at $850,000 on a single $150,000/year salary.

They have many credit cards and have always made the minimum payments for many years... but now they're using their credit cards to get cash advances to pay the mortgage and property taxes. Technically they're still a 755 FICA score but the inside numbers tell a different story.

Mr US has a sweet 46' yacht he picked up on terms... he owns several luxury cars, ATV's and every electronic gadget known to man.

How does HE fix it? Well start with getting rid of the yacht... then downgrade from a BMW to a Ford. Move into a reasonable 2500 sf house. Get a better job that pays more money.

Remember... when you apply for more CREDIT CARDS your score drops. The debt limit increase was teh same as EQUIFAX dinging your FICA bacause you're not as trust-able as you once were...

Lessson To Mr. Obama... that US Military is your 46' yacht and we can't afford it OR YOUR THREE WARS. Start by slashing the defense budget, rework some more revenue and SLASH PORK...

1. Where's MY 6000sf house? Where's MY $150K salary?
I hate to break it to you, but I'm working as a temp just trying to keep the power from being turned off. I have a sweet little kitty to look after.

2. Mr. US can also tax people and print more money.
I agree with cutting certain programs and reining in military spending, but we are not in a position now to worry too much about the deficit.

Right now we need to grow the economy with stimulus, not worry about what S&P says.

3. Yes and no.
The US is a poor credit risk not because we're overextended, (by any objective measure, we are not) but because we simply lack the ethical framework to make "full faith and credit" worth anything.

4. Slash the offense budget, YES YES YES, it is bloated, why Christ we are going to need
an alien invasion, (not the Arizonan type) just to justify the incredibly oversized military machine we maintain and for what? We effed up in Iraq, we effed up in Afghanistan. I am not criticizing military men and women, they do what they have to, they do what they are told. I am just saying I don't see the need to have enough military hardware and resources to blow the gd planet up 200 times over.

7. My thoughts exactly.
Our Allegedly Elected Representatives brought this plague down on our heads and up our asses in the names of their Corporate Masters. They'll all be taken WELL care of for the rest of their nastyass lives while WE'LL being doing well to live out this wretched decade.

Too bad I am prohibited from advocating here the proper remedy for Treason that is clearly laid out in the Constitution...

:grr:
