Another take on Wisconsin
Like so many others I was disappointed that we didn't pick up three seats in Wisconsin. What I have come to realize is what an amazing feat it was that two newly elected incumbents were thrown out of office even though 25 million dollars of outside money came into to stop the recall movement.

We all know that incumbents, even if they are rats who have manipulated, lied and screwed the public (i.e. Bush)are very hard to beat. The people on the ground in Wisconsin won against all odds. What an amazing job.

1. I was shocked that the Repubs didn't have all the races rigged.
But I would bet good money they did in that one district with the Katherine Harris clone.

2. You realize that only 2 municipalities in Waukesha County voted this week, right?
Not enough to turn the outcome.

3. Only two?
If that's the case, that, in addition to the $8 million spent to save Darling's seat, is the reason why Democrats fell short just one seat.

Even Scottie Koch-Walker sees the writing on the wall. No wonder he was so conciliatory in his speech, now saying he'll work together with Democrats to push the state forward. Uh-huh. Where was he back in March/April?? No one believes he's suddenly had a divine epiphany so this can only mean he's seen how vulnerable he is and he's trying to kiss behinds.

4. Yes. That district touches 4 counties: Waukesha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee and Washington.
The 2 communities in Waukesha are: Butler (very small) and Menomonee Falls.

8. Thanks for this info. I didn't know this
and I wouldn't know it if I relied solely on U.S. corporate media. They actually made it sound as if despite the hard effort made by volunteers to get the signatures in order to recall Darling, they completely dropped the ball when it came to getting out the vote.

At least, that was what http://www.washingtonpost.com/jonathan-capehart/2011/02/24/AB1tR7I_page.html">Jonathan Capehart said on MSNBC. I forget which show it was, though.

5. They didn't because they are not omnipotent, able to steal elections at will.
They do so love it when Democrats buy into that myth.

Oh, and you would be surprised that some heavily Republican districts actually vote for the Republican, and it's not even rigged! Who would have thunk it?

6. I was shocked Ms. Nicholas was able to shut down exit pollers in her jurisdiction...
For several hours at least.... Enough to cloud any real results...

9. They were able to conduct exit polls in all other locations without incident.
The issue was in Butler. They conducted exit polls at other polling places (including Waukesha County) without incident. Butler cast about 600 votes so as long as they have the other locations, we should see some decent data.

7. There are two Democtratic Senators up for recall next week. If we lose
those we are back to square one.
