How bad is the drought in Texas?
I saw a cow with a "Will work for hay" sign on it. Wish I had a camera!

The drought pretty much devastated hay production in Texas. With no grasses, ranchers are already buying hay to feed their cattle, but it is scarce....and expensive. I have a buddy who has about 40 head of cattle on 200 acres with one watering hole left, and its a mud puddle! Cows drink about ten gallons of water a day and he is already pumping well water into the pond.
HE'll lose money this year.

1. Then every Texans have but one person to blame
Texas Governor Rick "Goodhair" Perry.

His prayerathons are dismal failures.

And he's continuing to "pray" for rain when God's ignoring Republicans and trying to drive them OUT of Earth.

3. Meanwhile, we in left wing New Mexico
got quite a bit of very welcome rain yesterday.

We keep hoping Perry never campaigns here. What little rain we do get will dry up completely.

4. The drought in Texas is SOOOOOOOO bad, that...
if Rick Perry's prayer fest had been followed by rain
I'd go register Republican.

5. When I was growing up on the farm if things got that bad the cattle
were sold off until things improved. With cattle dying due to heat and all these other problems is this going to end drought area farming for the foreseeable future?
