1. Republicans have a very selective memory

They remember that dirty fucking hippies are bad. They remember that wars are good. They remember that they're strong on defense (at least, they're strong in handing out military contracts to their pals). They remember that Democrats tax and spend.

But their own feckless ways? No memory of that whatsoever. Now, where's my disaster funds? We need them, right now!

2. hey, doesn't tax and spend mean no deficit? doesn't that mean it's paid for

and not put on a credit card. different than borrow and spend which is what the republicans have been doing. they don't care about paying for it. that's some other sucker's problem. they only bring it up when someone else is in charge. never mentioning who charged up that card.

4. My standard response to "tax and spend"! is . . .

Beats the heck out of "borrow and spend." If I'm really in a mood, I'll ask the other person how comfortable they are with the Communist Chinese holding so much of our debt. That's usually enough to spin them into a whole new realm of pissed off for me to laugh at.

and many victims and families were from NJ. The Repukes at the time were doing everything they could, and still are, to block funds to these families.
