Buy time with your MN rep through on-line auction
Edited on Thu Aug-25-11 07:00 PM by spedtr90
Access to your elected officials? There's an app for that - it's called money.

"A Republican committee in Minnesota has been caught creating an eBay-style auction site to sell access with politicians, including top lawmakers like Rep. John Kline (R-MN) and Rep. Erik Paulsen (R-MN), as well as State House Speaker Kurt Zellers (R-MN). With bidding starting at $250, the committee offered opportunities to “get up close and personal” with each lawmaker. The announcement for the auction was reportedly sent to area lobbyists."

After being caught by Common Cause, the Carver County Republican Party took down the website.

2. What can you say?
Democracy for sale. These morons should be recalled now, but before that their constituents should demand time with them and for the rest of their terms, they should have to spend hours of every day meeting with their employers. Apparently they forgot that they are EMPLOYEES. And they forgot who the boss is. And thickheaded as they are, it will most likely take months to train them into understanding that.

I hope Democrats at least who are in their districts will start demanding their time which is already being paid for by tax dollars. It is NOT free time, they are being paid by the taxpayers and owe them all of their working hours.

Shameful, disgusting, reprehensible, appalling ~ there are not enough adjectives to describe what these cheap, despicable moronic excuses for human beings are and how did they ever get elected? I hope someone, Dems, got a screen capture of that ad to use in their campaigns against them.

3. Common Cause got a screen capture
The invitation asks lobbyists to bid on this exclusive opportunity to spend time with Congressman Kline, Congressman Paulsen, State Senator Ortman, State Representative Leidiger, State Representative Hoppe, State Representative Stensrud and Speaker of the Minnesota House Zellers.

answer my e-mails, meet me face to face
I was told the other day that I have NO right to meet him face to face
it is enough that my concerns are passed on to him

and his schedule is a secret due to national security issues

8. 'I have NO right to meet him face to face'!!
Unbelievable, of course you do, and he has not right to refuse to address the concerns of his constituents.

Next time tell them you are recording the conversation and you just want to now how much it would cost for a constituent to gain the right to talk to him face to face.

12. Is anyone running against him? That sounds like a seat that should
definitely be challenged and with this attitude, maybe not too hard to win.

and they do not give out that information
they made it sound like he was afraid and it was a National Security issue
