If Obama has ONE IOTA of political sense.....
....he'll immediately get his ass up to the areas affected by Hurricane Irene, get some photo ops, and participate in distributing ice and water and even helping to rebuild some houses. (Kind of like Bush did in Florida after Hurricane Charlie struck in 2004).

Let's see if he, or any of his political advisers, have enough sense to figure this one out.

3. That's beside the point.....
...Bush handing out ice to people in South Florida in 2004 after Charlie turned their houses into firewood was obvious, but it made the locals feel that he was a caring human being who was on their side. If Obama doesn't take advantage of this opportunity, what will be OBVIOUS is that he's completely aloof.

21. My point exactly!
Bush's lack of visibility after Katrina hurt him very badly. But his visibility a year earlier after Charlie helped him greatly....including winning re(?)-election.

4. He can't win, no matter what he does.
If he shows up at some damage sites and does some symbolic thing involving shoveling dirt or handing out ice water, he'll get a ration of shit for putting on a photo op. If he doesn't do it he'll get a ration of shit for allegedly not caring about the victims of the hurricane.

5. Should Obama stay or should he go?
If Obama goes to the affected areas, Republicans will say that he is a Communist, Marxist, monster who is trying to turn the United States into a third-world country.

And Obama decides that it is best NOT to go to the affected areas, Republicans will accuse him of being a Communist, Marxist, monster who is trying to turn the United States into a third-world country.

9. I'm hoping he starts wiping the asses of those who can't
It's the only way.

And if he has any sense he will rebuild some transmissions of some people who have cars that aren't running right. I also think he should prepare some pancakes for those people who don't know the proper mix of flour, eggs and ...well, whatever else is in there. And if he doesn't get his ass out to fuckers who can't program their dvr's, I say we primary him!!!!

There's nothing he can do to please them so he should stop letting them influence what he does, ever!

14. Like his political instincts are so sublime.
His approvals are in the toilet. It's time he did take a cue from us "asses" out here who he's supposed to be serving and who, by the way, want him to succeed.

The guy is damned if he does, and damned if he doesn't.

19. Obama went to the Gulf 2 or 3 times after the oil spill.
He went to Joplin Missouri after the monster tornado in May and to Alabama after the tornado in April. He went to Iowa/Missouri after the flooding this spring. I am sure I am missing a bunch of presidential visits here but it seems obvious to me that the guy has pretty good political sense when it comes to visiting natural disasters areas.

Just the first black guy ever to be elected President with the middle name Hussein while we were pissing ourselves whenever a dark skinned person got on a plane with us.

No chops...
