Is there anything in the Constitution that does NOT apply to
the Senators & House?

I received an email from a RW friend that talks about the 26th amendment of 1971 that gives voting rights to 18 year olds, and it only took 3 months & only took 3 months & 8 days to b ratified because people demanded.

Their demand now is that we have the 28th amendment:

"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States ."

What part of the constiution doesn't apply to Congress?none that I know of! What in the world are they bitching about now, unless they want to take the vote away fron the 18 yo's?

1. If I remember right...
... drug tests.

I think all federal employees have to submit to drug tests, except congressmen and senators.

3. Yes, on their way to congress their travel has to be
guaranteed as they are in official duty.

Why having Kennedy on the No Fly List was such a "scandal."

After that all laws in theory apply to them.

4. Nut-butter. Happens at the beginning of any new Congress . . .
This one seems to be aimed at avoiding unusual perks being voted for senators and representatives. I'm not sure that would even be constitutional, since there are some laws about succession and the like that specifically address one's status as a member of Congress.

6. That's not the way I see this proposal. As I see it, any law that doesn't
appl to anyone is unconstitutional. I was ony asking if ther is ANY law hat applies to ONLY congress critter. I don't think there is, but the nutbags on the right are sayyyying ther is.

7. The order of presidential succession, passed after Truman succeeded Roosevelt . . .
specifies that the Speaker of the House is third in line. While the law does cover other persons, that portion of the law covers only the inhabitant of a particular congressional office. I suspect there are other laws that meet the criterion of "applying only to Congress."
