I'm a U.S. citizen living abroad.
If the government decides I'm a terrorist and kills me, how many of you will be cheering my demise?

21. As long as you're not participating in actual and attempted mass murder, you're cool.
Don't pretend like this is a matter of "Well, the government said so and that's the only evidence." First off, the guy confessed. Repeatedly, loudly, and happily, extolling how he was a part of the attempted murder of hundreds of people, and how he viewed it as a mission from God. And that's on top of the fact that he was tried and convicted of incitement to murder for his part in the death of a French citizen in Yemen.

53. I agree. Having concerns about your government is not the same as
planning and executing the murder of innocent people. The OP seems to want to set up a a virtuous model, yet the premise that underpins the challenge is all wrong.

54. If the OP killed thousands of innocent people. I would not have a problem
even WATCHING him be killed, or doing the killing myself. Folks, we are not talking about a death row inmate that got poor legal representation, OR ANY death row inmate. The man killed yesterday was a cold blooded killer of thousands that would have loved to have been in position to wipe out a big US city.

If Uncle Sam says you were plotting to kill our children as they petted puppies in a petting zoo, they would cheer your death.

Obama is talking to the enemy by assasinating terrorist leaders. They understand killing, they laugh about trials. I do not want my tax dollars going to pay for a trial of a confessed killer, nor do I want him to speak another word to some dumb schmuck about ten thousand virgins.

No? Then why, pray tell, would anyone cheer your demise?

41. Seems that is the standard. Which party is in power determines
whether something is right or wrong. I am constantly amazed at what I am discovering about the so-called left.

A few days ago the 'left' was outraged about Republicans cheering for executions. But those executions were in Texas and the candidate was a Republican.

It gets so confusing. This man has not even been charged and now I see some of the same people who were so outraged with Republicans, cheering this execution.

It would be quite easy to accuse him of doing so, simply because you wanted him out of the way for whatever reason. Wouldn't it be nice if he could be protected from such false accusation by law somehow?

39. To make you an enemy.
Not so many years back, the chimp administration lofted a trial balloon claiming that anyone who used illegal drugs was supporting "The Terrorists". I've heard timber corporations on the CA north coast claiming that environmental activists were terrorists. Our government is now under the control of predator corporations. It's not a far reach to expect that anyone they are uncomfortable with, will be declared to be terrorists.

We're on a slippery slope here with Obama embracing the Bush Doctrine. How about when we wind up with a real fascist asshole rethuglican president again? Who will be his (or her) targets for assassination?

says there is a reason why the U.S. has checks and balances to ensure power is not focused towards one man. This continuation of the Bush era doctrine betrays everything I was taught in civics when I was in school and how our government should operate.
