what we should be doing about global warming, imho
inspired by this thread-

we should be starting new cities. new cities in places that climate change will favor. or at least not drown or fry right off the bat.
build a sustainable energy "grid", dig wells, build a school and a hospital, some affordable apartment buildings, streets, rail lines, maybe.
then give loans to companies that want to locate there, and help them get going.

site them as close as possible to cities that are doomed. i really think that if you build it, they will come. what other choice is there?

without a doubt we should be trying to stop it, but lets be real about that one. however well we accomplish that, we have several generations left here. we should be laying the groundwork for them to do it the right way.

1. These are all terrific ideas. I'd like to add education/awareness, but that might go without saying
Most of what needs to be done could be done (in fact it must be done) through education and enlightenment.

People who understand the consequences are far more likely to embrace the changes that will have to come.

And then there's the population problem; we're way past the carrying capacity for this planet even if we were to adopt perfect behaviors and technologies.

We could probably carry the current population, but not with a very good quality of life.
