My life is reasonably comfortable

But justice matters, I care about people, and I have no real say in public policy. I am the 99%.

1. I inherited a stock portfolio that supports me
although it doesn't allow me to be part of the jet set. I have enough and I am grateful. However, the 1% won't be satisfied until it wrests it away from me, leaving me nothing. I also have no say in the public policy that allows them to do this.

I am the 99%

5. Manage that stock portfolio yourself. Do not let any bank sell you on the idea
of a revokable trust with them managing. My husband did that before the era of constant bank mergers and made money hand over fist. Then the bank mergers started and he lost money hand over fist. He lost at least $150,000 to the bank. When we tried to find out where the money was, the bank was sold again and again. There was $60,000 left when we closed the account, $40,000 was left when the bank sent up what was left, and then the Bush II economy trashed it. We were comfortable high middle class. Now we are working class hanging on by our finger nails. We are the 99%.

2. We're able to be a one-income family
and I am grateful that my husband makes enough money that I can be a SAHM. But because of our debts that chain us, at the end of the month we have nothing left to save. Any unexpected expense like a car repair can wipe out our checking account and usually has to go on the charge card (Bank of America no less, through no choice of our own x( ). And our debt grows. If nothing in this country changes, we will never be able to break free, my husband will never be able to retire, and I will never be able to have peace of mind to sleep at night.

I am the 99%.

4. We are "getting by" with few options for "extras" on small retirement income
keeping our heads, and sanity, afloat in a red sea in a red community in a red state.
We have much to say but few will listen in our area.

My 2 adult children are both unemployed, caught in this hellish
job sucking economic policy. They never saw this coming.

We are the 99% and always have been.

6. My family and I are lucky. My wife makes a great living, I'm a stay at home dad with health
issues. We not rich, but not broke.

I'm planning on going to the protest tomorrow if I'm feeling well enough to do it because I and everyone in my neighborhood and everyone I know and love is in the 99%.

7. I believed they would change the world for the better
and there would always be a place for those that understood what was required to make use of their power; what we did not understand so well was that we were hand-feeding the beasts that owned them and the power of the information they asked us to glean for them with those 0s and 1s.

HAL: I know I've made some very poor decisions recently, but I can give you my complete assurance that my work will be back to normal. I've still got the greatest enthusiasm and confidence in the mission. And I want to help you.

HAL: Look Dave, I can see you're really upset about this. I honestly think you ought to sit down calmly, take a stress pill, and think things over.

- 2001 A Space Odyssey (1968)

I took HAL's advice. After thinking things over, I will have justice for the many, whether or not it ever again includes me, or I am history, a 0 or a 1.

I am a 99%er.
