That was posted by Dave Weigel on Twitter.

The pedestrian path of the Brooklyn Bridge was stopped.

Cops were leading protesters onto the road of the Brooklyn Bridge.

The best way to stay in motion even for people already on the pedestrian path seemed to be to climb onto the road.

Then police blocked both sides of the road and kettled hundreds for hours, while arresting 700.

4. Seems Like The ONLY Coverage This Is Getting Is Through The Internet!

Few blurbs on MSNBC and other stations. Down here in Florida there were marches in Tallahassee, Tampa & Orlando that started early. Didn't get coverage on it, but my daughter was following on Internet yesterday. Her son attend FSU and he said lots of people out.

This really needs COVERAGE on stations, too many people ARE NOT aware of what is going on. Been talking to people in neighborhood and by phone. Little reaction because they are UNAWARE!

We have plans to go to Tampa on Oct. 6th, but it seems they started early. Don't really know what is going on. I do have a link to keep checking updates. Tampa changed time from 4:30PM-6:30PM to 9:00AM-4:00PM, which may change again.

THEY DON'T SEEM TO WANT this to grow!

My guess is they thought this would net the NYPD some positive press. "Protestors block bridge, make nuisance of themselves, we arrest them all and save the roadway." But as many have pointed out, they seem to forget there are cameras trained on them and their every move.

If it wasn't for citizen video, it wouldn't be known at all.
