I have to wonder because I've not heard or seen it reported: What was the consensus about crossing the Brooklyn Bridge? Were the protests simply trying to cross to go somewhere in Brooklyn? It seems they were herded off of the footbridge and into the roadbed by the NYPD.

Was the objective to seize the bridge? I doubt it as an effective tactic on a Saturday. During rush hours, I could see it.

Anyone know with certainty?

2. I saw here on DU that the cops directed them off the paths into the street then blocked them in. I,

also saw that the NYT had some propaganda about the police warning them to disburse or they would be arrested.
The alleged link in the NYT piece was not evident.
I do not believe their is a consensus on DU about how it happened or what it means.
