3. In reality the young want what the elderly have that the young are expected to provide.

9. Well said
However most young people are aware that their consumption level will be less than that of older generations - which have built this system based on piling debt over debt on future generations. And hardly any young seriously expects to be paid pension.

10. There are plenty of poor elderly people....
and there are those of us middle aged, middle class people who are quite worried about dimming prospects for the younger generation. Many of us have also lost a substantial amount of our retirement savings, through the Bankster/Wall Street con game, at the same time the Rethugs are trying to dismantle the Social Security system we've been paying for all of our working lives.

Don't fall for the "It's the Baby Boomers fault" divide and conquer technique.

12. Besides, who would pay for the elderly if Social Security were cut?
The children of the elderly, that's who, of course. You can't abandon your children. You can't abandon your elderly parents.

The bankers can abandon America's children and seniors, but ordinary people can't abandon their children and usually don't abandon their parents.

17. I wonder if the "old people are leeches on the young" crowd....
will be happy to have their parents and grandparents move in with them if S.S. and Medicare is destroyed? Prior to S.S. that was the norm.

While I understand young people's frustration (I'm the mother of three of them), I suspect that this divisive talking point is being planted and encouraged by the Oligarchs as a distraction from the real problems.

Why are you here?

14. You might find this interesting...
I figured this out some time ago.

No recent articles but I'm sure the findings are similar.

16. Interesting, but that article is from 2007, before the stock market...
crash.

It also pushes the claim that the problem isn't really the Wall Street con artists, top 1% and overpaid CEOs, it's "the Baby Boomers." How convenient for the super rich.

13. Never saw this! Thanks!
All these people just crying out for leadership and a fair shake. Falling on deaf ears? Hopefully not for long.
