Koch brothers’ firm hid subsidiary’s violations of criminal law
Source: Raw Story

In May 2008, the compliance and ethics manager of Koch Industries discovered that a French subsidiary of the privately-held firm had been paying bribes to gain contracts.

As described in the November issue of Bloomberg Markets magazine, she promptly notified her supervisors, who found evidence that the business director of Koch-Glitsch had authorized improper payments in six different countries, going back to 2002. “Those activities constitute violations of criminal law,” an internal memo dated December 8, 2008 frankly stated.

However, the company gave no credit to Ludmila Egorova-Farines, who had originally uncovered the corruption. She had been removed from the inquiry in August and was fired for “incompetence” in June 2009. She sued the French subsidiary for wrongful termination, and the details of the Koch investigation came out a year ago as part of her civil case.

According to Bloomberg Markets, however, this is the first time the December 2008 letter has been reported in the media.

11. Never
Even if some brave soul tried to put them behind bars there friends in high places would let them off. (For a price). Just look at how fast Chris Christie dropped a prosecution against a News Corpse subsidiary. He was then a "made" man and now occupies a high place in the apparatus. If this is a democracy I'll kiss Kochs ass on the Capitol steps.

5. When will the corrupt Koch brothers and their corrupt companies be prosecuted?
And who will prosecute them?

They give money to both parties.

And now, for evidence of our corrupt media.

"She sued the French subsidiary for wrongful termination, and the details of the Koch investigation came out a year ago as part of her civil case.

According to Bloomberg Markets, however, this is the first time the December 2008 letter has been reported in the media."

walk freely! They are highly questionable in their dealings with Iran (selling them petrochemicals) and all their other disturbing deals makes one wonder if they will ever be held to the standard of right & wrong in a court of law.

THEY are what's wrong with the system. We barely get by, and these con artists are flippin' super filthy stinking rich with about $50 BILLION between the two.

10. Reminds me of Tea Pot Dome.
The story of oil company corruption continues and so does their perfect record of never going to jail. Fall went to prison for taking a bribe, but Sinclair walked for giving one. Meanwhile Koch and his cronies poured millions into state legislative races in order to control redistricting and flies in Supreme Court Justices and Governors for meetings. I will assume that they bribe and blackmail at will. This is why I believe we need a new paradigm. Electoral democracy and great wealth seem to be antithetical. You can either have great disparity of wealth or democracy, but not both.
Regulating capitalism is like trying to ride a tiger. It ain't easy and there is always the danger you might get eaten.
