N.J. Gov. Chris Christie, wife made more than $500K in past 12 months
Published: Thursday, August 26, 2010, 11:21 AM

TRENTON — Gov. Chris Christie and his wife made more than $500,000 over the past 12 months, according to financial disclosure reports released this morning by the State Ethics Commission.

The bulk of the money came from Mary Pat Christie, who reported making more than $500,000 from her job as a vice president at the financial firm Cantor Fitzgerald. Chris Christie made between $50,000 and $100,000 from his job as governor, which he began in January, and did not take a salary while campaigning.

Cantor Fitzgerald L.P. is a global financial services firm specializing in bond trading.

The firm is one of twenty primary dealers who trade U.S. government securities directly with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York,<1> and is also involved in investment banking, asset management, market data, and brokerage services.

Now headquartered in Midtown Manhattan, New York City,<2> it was formerly based in the World Trade Center—and was particularly hard hit by the September 11, 2001 attacks.

1. I guessed wrong
at first I thought surely that his wife must have been one of those over-paid unionized government workers.

2. And I'm Sure That Cantor Does Not Benefit from Having the Wife of the Governor on their Payroll
No benefit whatsoever.

:sarcasm:
