Please see The Brennan Center's report, "Voting Law Changes 2012" for an even grimmer picture.

3. 171 Electoral votes
“There has never been in my lifetime, since we got rid of the poll tax and all the Jim Crow burdens on voting, the determined effort to limit the franchise that we see today.” - Bill Clinton

4. 29 winner-takes-all electoral votes from Florida alone.
97,000 Florida citizens - non-violent ex-felons -- lost their right to vote with a stroke of Gov. Rick Scott's pen -- a million more are in danger of disenfranchisement.

it's no coincidence that the GOP/Teabaggers are holding so many high-profile debates here in Florida -- another, for Jacksonville, was announced today.

7. "More than five million Americans could be affected by the new rules already put in place this year

... -- a number larger than the margin of victory in two of the last three presidential elections."

9. Can't imagine we've seen the last of Fla. Gov. Rick Scott's attacks on voters either. Not that he

hasn't done plenty already.

10. They do provide ways to register with Food Stamp apps here

And I am hoping this will increase voter roles here, as more people must get help to survive.

This is a massive effort to disenfranchise the poor. if you know a poor or elderly voter, and you are able, help them get the ID they need to vote. We need every one this time.
