GOP candidates silent on Perry hunting camp story

Why is Herman Cain the only Republican presidential candidate to publicly comment about the Post story that early in the career of Rick Perry, the Texas governor brought friends and supporters to a West Texas hunting camp his family leased that was called “Niggerhead”? snip

What say the rest of the Republican field? So far, Mitt Romney, Michele Bachmann, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum and the others have been silent on the story. Now they fall all over themselves trying to be first when it comes to taking shots at President Obama, and often, cheap ones at that.

Why are they averting their gaze from this story? Is Herman Cain the only Republican candidate to find the use of the sign insensitive and the word offensive? Certainly that rock says a lot about Rick Perry. Not hearing a peep from the other GOP presidential candidates, except Herman Cain, says a lot about them, too. And it’s not good.

1. They're silent because they know their base supports Perry's racism.
Even Cain has backed off some. Really sad.

2. Who would have thought the day would come when Racism turned out to be a GOP Wedge issue?

They can't comment because they know they will alienate some, likely large, portion of their base.

3. Perry insensitive for not destroying the rock immediately upon seeing it.
But being insensitive does not make a person racist. Is Perry's insensitivity any different from those that can't see the horror that others see in confederate symbols?

4. Yea, Perry should just come out of wherever he is hiding and say, "I am not a racist!"
If he is not.

5. Of course they are silent...Just like silent on the "let him die" crowd
and booing the gay war vet.
The Republicon Party: the party of death panels. What a sad joke.
