6. Very much so. And extremely pro-union
However, he doesn't pass some people's purity tests. Therefore, he'll have to join women, GLBT people, peace activists, environmentalists, other union activists and many, many others under the Hopemobile. The good news is that it's shady down here, so we're much less likely to die of skin cancer.

16. I think you are over stating his case. Look at what he says..hes a Republican...
He is not far from Charlie Daniels and Daryl Worley.

I LIKE Toby Keith. I think he is talented. I love his song , Next thing on my list".

But when he starts with the Charlie Daniels/Lee Greenwood stuff, I have to turn him off.

23. If we're supposed to accept Max Baucus, Ben Nelson and Mary Landrieu
then what? There's an imaginary line that some people want to draw around a musician because he doesn't pass a purity test?

We're supposed to accept the President, who is no more nor less pro war and pro murder than a musician?

Don't get me wrong. If it's time for the purity purges to start with all non-liberals booted out, I'll be there. However, we haven't remotely suggested that as Party policy.

11. I try not to hate entertainers over politics....
Sometimes it is really hard to do ( one of the Baldwinn Brother's ahem ), but mostly I don't. Sometimes people change is one reason. The other is that, I think people are entitled to their opinions again for the most part (homophobes and racists need not apply), and as long as entertainers and other people that are not politicians manage to not sound batshitcrazy, I can live with differences of opinions.

However, if they get really political and start fund raising for the enemy then it's a bit harder to go oh well difference of opinion. I just can't seem to enjoy their work knowing they are actively involved in doing harm.

There are some Dem C&W singers...

Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Dixie Chicks, Willie Nelson, Emmylou Harris, Kris Kristofferson, Steve Earle, Rossanne Cash

I'm sure there are more, but this is off the top of my head.

24. 'we shall be free'
(Stephanie Davis, Garth Brooks)

This ain't comin' from no prophet

Just an ordinary man

When I close my eyes I see

The way this world shall be

When we all walk hand in hand

When the last child cries for a crust of bread

When the last man dies for just words that he said

When there's shelter over the poorest head

We shall be free

When the last thing we notice is the color of skin

And the first thing we look for is the beauty within

When the skies and the oceans are clean again

Then we shall be free

We shall be free

We shall be free

Stand straight, walk proud

'Cause we shall be free

When we're free to love anyone we choose

When this world's big enough for all different views

When we all can worship from our own kind of pew

Then we shall be free

We shall be free

We shall be free

Have a little faith

Hold out

'Cause we shall be free

And when money talks for the very last time

And nobody walks a step behind

When there's only one race and that's mankind

Then we shall be free

We shall be free

We shall be free

Stand straight, walk proud, have a little faith, hold

out

We shall be free

We shall be free

We shall be free

Stand straight, have a little faith

We shall be free

14. Toby Keith weighs in on gay marriage, military
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Toby Keith says gay marriage doesn't bother him and trying to stop it wastes time and money.

The country superstar tells "CMT Insider" airing Saturday on CMT that he doesn't see the reason behind getting into people's personal lives. He says refusing a marriage license to people because they are gay won't stop them from living together, so it accomplishes nothing.

Keith also weighed in on the military's now-repealed "don't ask, don't tell" policy that banned gays serving openly in uniform. He says that anyone with the training and passion should have the right to defend the country, adding: "Somebody's sexual preference is, like, who cares?"

The "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue" singer has taken part in nine USO tours to entertain U.S. troops overseas.

34. Obama did not promise an end to the warS.
Edited on Mon Oct-03-11 11:48 PM by Tx4obama

Obama ALWAYS said during the 2008 campaign that he would bring the troops home from 'Iraq',

BUT he ALWAYS said that he would INCREASE the troops in 'Afghanistan'.

He has brought home all the 'combat troops' home from Iraq.
He did increase the troops in Afghanistan, then he reduced the troops there.
He is now in the process of bringing home more of the troops from both places.

So, I am not really sure what you are waiting for - it is happening now right in front of our eyes ;)

Edited to fix typo.
