Too bad Troy Davis wasn't Italian.
Or in Italy. There's an argument to be made that Italy has a more just system of justice. And Italy doesn't even brag about liberty and justice and that it is "exceptional."

Or maybe it's just too bad Troy wasn't a young Caucasian woman like Amanda, or even Casey Anthony. If Amanda Knox was a black man in Georgia, she'd be on death row and 20 years or so later, she'd die there, probably no matter what the evidence showed or failed to prove.

This isn't news, but it belongs on our radar. I hope we won't forget that needless and profound miscarriage of Georgia justice. I hope we won't be content until the Troys in Georgia have the same rights and protections that Amanda got in Italy.

5. The truth is tasteless now? I've rec'd to counter your unrec.
For a person who portends to be for the truth (at least, that's alluded to in your sig), you sure can't take it.

To be clear, the death penalty is TASTELESS. Do you agree we should abolish it forever?

12. I completely
support the abolition of capital punishment AND war!

I just think the header is disrespectful to Mr. Davis.

4. The DP should be abolished as the barbarian law that it is.
I know a LOT of Democrats are for the DP for the more egregious criminals in our system, but the system itself has proven to be biased, myopic, and easily gamed. I hope those who support the DP understand this fundamental fact.

As long as humans are in control of our justice system, there should be NO death penalty. To err is human, but we should never err on the side of death. EVER.

9. No, too bad he wasn't tried in Italy.
Being Italian wouldn't have helped him at all in Georgia.
