What our children on Wall Street are telling us...
When I look at the pictures of OWS, I see young folks. These are our kids. They are the country's future. They feel that they have no future and if they don't, we all have lost the future. The talking heads keep asking "What do they want, what is their platform?" Anyone who seriously asks those questions is part of the problem. They are not a political party or even a "movement". They are our children and they are expecting us to solve the problem...to clean up the mess we made for them. And they are spot on right in asking this. As a parent, if you have ever done something wrong...lost your temper, been unkind...in front of your kid you know the "look". The "look" speaks a thousand words and it says to all of us..."we trusted that you would do better by us, your children." That is the OWS program/platform and it is damned good enough for me.

4. People who ask those kinds of questions certainly are part of the problem...
Wall Street got the bail out. Main Street got the bill. Corporate CEO's didn't get the boot: they are getting record bonuses (on top of amazing tax cuts!). Are these corporations and wealthy "job creator" individuals creating jobs? Hell no. If there are any jobs being created, they sure aren't the good kind. Banks and financial corporations are still pulling the strings in Washington; hoping for even more deregulation to help rig things in their favor.... Meanwhile stupid people can't understand that "their" country is being bled dry by simple greed. Thank God, some of us understand.

6. Exactly, Matthew! The solution? BAN THE rEPUBLICAN PARTY NOW!
Matthew, your post was very spot on with the crap that is going on. It dovetails precisely with the ONLY thing that will go a long way to solving the problem. We NEED to ban the GOP. Specifically, we need to criminalize financial support of an organization that is more destructive than ANY regime in the history of the planet. If an organization like the republican Party were to be propsed today, it would be denied because there are so many tenets that destroy people, animal, and planets. Thanks, Matthew, for your support and let's do the right thing...BAN THE GOP TODAY!!

9. You don't know, or are you being deliberately obtuse?
The WHY'S and WHAT'S of this movement have been published widely on the web, with an invitation to add more. Keith Olbermann has read the document put out by the movement and had the authors on his show. Bailouts, foreclosures, insider trading, pension stripping, union busting, you name it.

The MSM can ignore us all they want, we're not going away. And you can feign ignorance all you want and repeat the repuke meme but, we're not going away.

5. EVERYBODY
Edited on Tue Oct-04-11 04:14 PM by marions ghost
in this country KNOWS exactly why the protestors are there...

All this, "what do they want?" is the biggest lie of all. Everybody knows what they want. But the PTB have no intention of giving it to them.

I think it could well be the beginning of a movement. As you imply, the PARENTS need to join it!

8. My daughter is there

or will be very soon. I can't tell you how grateful I am for her efforts, and how much I wish I was in NYC as well.

Kudos to those of all ages who have stood up and said "enough!"
