under the Constsitution."

Why is it that the highest court in the land doesn't have the highest ethical standards? That's the question we've been asking ever since Common Cause researchers discovered that Justice Clarence Thomas failed to disclose his wife's income for 13 years, and since reports surfaced that Thomas and fellow Justice Antonin Scalia attended secretive political gatherings hosted by the Koch Brothers.

Tomorrow at 2:30pm, we have a chance to get an answer. Justices Scalia and Stephen Breyer will be testifying.
Tell the members of committee to ask the justices: Should the Judicial Code of Conduct, which applies to every other federal judge, be extended to Supreme Court justices?

snip

Unfortunately, the attendance of several justices at politically charged events, as well as recent controversies concerning the appearance of bias, call into question the Court's integrity and impartiality.

Fortunately, the Court can do something about that by making sure that the Judicial Code of Conduct (snip) also applies to Supreme Court justices.

Please urge the Senate Judiciary Committee to use Wednesday's hearing to ask about the Code of Conduct and how it can be applied to the Supreme Court.

P.S. If you're interested in watching the hearing, it will be webcast on the Senate Judiciary Committee website here beginning at 2:30pm eastern time on Wednesday, October 5. Tune in, then head to Facebook to discuss it with us!

2. Yes, it should be interesting. Scalia might also be asked to testify. I think he was
one of those seen attending the secretive meetings of the Koch brothers.
