Open letter from former Tea Partier to OWS protesters
http://www.sott.net/articles/show/235842-How-COINTELPRO-really-works-and-destroys-social-movements-Open-letter-from-former-Tea-Partier-to-Occupy-Wall-Street-protesters

I don't expect you to believe me. I want you to read this, take it with a grain of salt, and do the research yourself. You may not believe me, but I want your movement to succeed. From a former tea partier to you, young new rebels, there's some advice to prevent what happened to our now broken movement from happening to you. I don't agree with everything your movement does, but I sympathize with your cause and agree on our common enemy. You guys are very intelligent and I trust that you will take this in the spirit it is intended.

I wish I could believe this Occupy Wall Street was still about (r)Evolution, but so far, all I am seeing is a painful rehash of how the government turned the pre-Presidential election tea party movement into the joke it is now. We were anarchists and ultra-libertarians, but above all we were peaceful. So, the media tried painting us as racists. But when that didn't work they tried to goad us into violence. When that failed, they killed our movement with money and false kindness from the theocratic arm of the Republican party. That killed our popular support.

I hate to say it, but this makes a lot of sense. Read the whole article.

2. If he hadn't said he was a Tea Partier, would you say the same?
I think we can all agree that the PTB do not want this movement to succeed, and they can't stop it with fire hoses, but they can make it crumble by discrediting it, and making it appear fatuous to the public.

14. I sure hope they don't show there

with no fuckin clue why they are there.

1. There is a good solid American Populism that we share. It would
be stupid and craven not to acknowledge it.

3. This would be a lot easier to believe if I had not seen with my own eyes that the Tea Baggers were
a bunch of self entitled racists funded by the Koch brothers and promoted by FOX SnewZ.
Little problem of OWS turning into them

6. I cannot believe that they ALL were, though.
I am completely convinced that many of them got involved honestly and were used & sold out. I also believe that there were many smart enough to recognize that they were duped. THOSE are our people.

5. Sorry, but I have NOTHING in common with these folks...
Edited on Tue Oct-04-11 07:58 PM by Earth_First
The are/were funded by the Koch brothers and the media held PLENTY of water for these folks.

They want nothing more than more free-market self-regulation which equates to more corporate anarchy...

I don't trust them enough to believe that they wouldn't attempt to overthrow the movement to regain the spotlight again.

We're all people living on planet Earth, who just want to be able to live our lives without the threat of tyranny.

I will grant you the definitions of what constitutes tyranny differ greatly, but the base motivation is the same.

If we're ever to move forward, we need to start relating to each other as human beings with basic common goal.

9. I dearly want to believe every word you say...
Hopefully this movement will allow me to shed a few layers of my cynicism.

Until then, I remain vigilant against detractors...

13. I'm not trying to detract. I'm trying to find a consensus
because if we can do that, it makes our odds that much better. But I can understand your reticence.

15. When you think about it
it does makes some sense but I think the tea party has themselves destroyed their
credibility for anyone to take them seriously.

Edited on Tue Oct-04-11 08:58 PM by ixion
I'm talking about individuals here, not the Koch-brothers astroturf group known as the Tea Party. That is nothing more than a false flag front for billionaires, exploiting people for their benefit.

21. I stop taking them seriously
when I found out that they were being supported by the Koch brothers and also were being outright
racist, that's where they lost me, but some of the things that they called for where in fact
needed.

More than a few of them know they've been used & abused. They're ours.

12. Is that a fact
well answer me this genius,

Where were you when Tea Baggers were parading the streets with racist slogans that has nothing to do
with what they CLAIMED to be protesting against?

16. Yes, it is a fact.
And yes, there are people in the Tea Party movement that are racist. And yes, racism is an ugly thing stemming from low self-esteem and feelings of inadequacy, and something that an enlightened society will not acknowledge. But racism aside, everything I said was true: We're ALL humans here, and humans all want pretty much the same thing at a base level, cultural differences aside.

22. The Ron Paul looneytarians were nothing prior to 2008
They have been trying to get their "movement" started for the past 20 years and never went anywhere with it until the Koch bros started bankrolling it and Faux became their PR dept. The only reason that happened was the bigots needed someplace to raise hell and they figured their white robes wouldn't play well on the national circuit. It never really was their movement from day one.

18. Well, the "anarchists and libertarians" part was their real problem
It made them total suckers for Koch brothers bullshit. There also were a very large number of them who were neither but were outraged that a brown man had won the presidency. The Tea Party was an Astroturfed movement almost from the first day.

Not so the present one, but now the parties will try to co-opt it.

19. Then why were all the Tea Party domain names purchased before Santelli's rant on MSNBC,
supposedly starting off the 'grass roots' movement?

What total bullshit, the Teabaggers were all played like violins by the Billionaire Class and now all look like fools.

This was all orchestrated immediately after Obama's election.

24. Seriously.....
Are we supposed to have forgotten how the tea party movement was born. What they were initially protesting about? Cause its the exact opposite of what the OWS protests are about.

I hate to say it, but this sounds like a bunch of bullshit!

Read what the tea party first protested, and then weep!
