It’s always helpful to remember the kind of people we’re dealing with on Wall St.:

“We are Wall Street. It’s our job to make money. Whether it’s a commodity, stock, bond, or some hypothetical piece of fake paper, it doesn’t matter. We would trade baseball cards if it were profitable. I didn’t hear America complaining when the market was roaring to 14,000 and everyone’s 401k doubled every 3 years. Just like gambling, its not a problem until you lose. I’ve never heard of anyone going to Gamblers Anonymous because they won too much in Vegas.

Well now the market crapped out, & even though it has come back somewhat, the government and the average Joes are still looking for a scapegoat. God knows there has to be one for everything. Well, here we are.

Go ahead and continue to take us down, but you’re only going to hurt yourselves. What’s going to happen when we can’t find jobs on the Street anymore? Guess what: We’re going to take yours. We get up at 5am & work till 10pm or later. We’re used to not getting up to pee when we have a position. We don’t take an hour or more for a lunch break. We don’t demand a union. We don’t retire at 50 with a pension. We eat what we kill, and when the only thing left to eat is on your dinner plates, we’ll eat that.

...............

We aren’t dinosaurs. We are smarter and more vicious than that, and we are going to survive. The question is, now that Obama & his administration are making Joe Mainstreet our food supply…will he? and will they?”

...sounds like the vicious little shit heels believe way too much of their own power PR.

"We’re used to not getting up to pee when we have a position." I've got a position for you -- it's called "kneeling down on guillotine." Go ahead and pee all you like.

5. The toughest person on Wall Street would cry doing my job after one week.
100 hours a week is NOTHING.

Lunch break? What in Hell is he talking about? You eat your lunch as you work, or you don't eat at all. There's a schedule to keep, it's iron-bound and unbreakable for any reason, there is no time to take a break to eat, you eat on the fly.

Retire at 50? Is this oart for real, or was it an attempt at a joke?

And I'd love to see one of these priveleged fucks lump a 44,000 lb. load of freight on a wind-swept freezing dock at 0345 on a Sunday morning, fingerprinting every single eighty pound case and having two hours max to get finished.

One of these soft-handed nice-smelling pedicured pissants is going to take MY job from me? Fuck, if he can do it, he can HAVE it!

16. I won't even mention the federally-mandated random drug and alcohol testing.
From what I understand, more than a few floor traders would fail after 'lunch'.

The coked-up guys upstairs are another thing entirely, they would set record numbers posted for a piss test.

and expect big bucks for producing nothing.

How apt it is to compare them to casino operations, because that's what the stock market really is.

9. Kinda interesting learning from the series Prohibition that Al Capone
was warning people *not* to invest in Wall Street...that he considered it all a scam.

10. Yes, and also interesting that when the mobsters decided to band together,
they parcelled out regions of the country among themselves, using the Federal Reserve's own map and guidelines.

:wow:

11. Translation: leave us alone to fuck with you, or we'll fuck with you.
Says a relative handful of people.

What are a few thousand stock traders in the US labor market? Are they going to replace tens of millions of "average Joes" throughout the country?

:eyes:

And if the way they make money doesn't matter... they why is the country worse off the more money they make?

And what good is doubling 401(k) values every three years (26% APR!) if nobody has any money to invest in a retirement fund???

15. Or aquire enough status and privilege to make the effort worthwhile
It's one thing to toil 90 hours a week in the rarefired air of a glass skyscraper, rubbing shoulders with multimillionaires daily and having hundreds of millions of dollars flowing to and fro at your command every single day. To get the fat paychecks, fatter bonuses, stock options, material goods (Hamptons, Aspen, Maybach) and social life. To have POWER over other people, and to attract people that love that power.

It's another thing to toil 90 hours a week picking strawberries and putting them in little clear plastic boxes for a tiny paycheck and then come home to a woman that you hope really loves you for you, because she sure as hell isn't sticking around for the social or financial perks.

Hi Mag, long time no see. :hi:

That's going to be a great picture.
