The prevailing attitude seems to be that, because they are police officers and their jobs are so difficult, they are automatically right and no one should question their authority to do as they see fit.

Well excuse me, Mr. police officer, sir! Your job is supposed to be difficult. If you don't like that, get out. Get a different job.

We, the people, pay your salaries. And we know that protecting a person's rights while protecting lives is complicated, messy and, yes, anything but easy. We expect it. It's why we hold you in such high esteem when you do it right.

So did the embedded "journalists" in Iraq who broadcast Bush's victorious victories. :puke:
