How Rick Scott counts to 700,000 jobs
Source: Politifact Florida

Rick Scott, the candidate, ran on a platform of creating jobs. That's why the businessman-turned-politician won a bruising Republican primary last summer, he said. That's why he squeaked by Democrat Alex Sink in November 2010. "That was my whole campaign," he said in February. "Seven steps to 700,000 jobs over seven years."

...

Scott the candidate offered one measure: "Our plan is seven steps to 700,000 jobs," he said in a debate a year ago, "and that plan is on top of what normal growth would be." Now Scott the governor is offering another. "700,000," he told reporters Oct. 4, 2011, when asked how many jobs he promised to create.

"But the initial promise was to create 700,000 on top of projected growth," Scott was asked.

"No," Scott said.

Scott is running Florida, just like he ran Columbia HCA, into the ground with deception and double talk.

1. Alex Sink failed to counter a couple of key TV ads and that sank her in the eyes of brain-dead.
(no pun intended above :) )

9. Granted
I was shocked when Sink lost. Sink was a professional with decades of political and business experience. Scott was a failed businessman whose organization comitted the largest act of Medicare fraud in history.

2. The bottom line is
Old Ricky boy hasn't added one job and most likely will lose jobs.

3. He is still likely to be re-elected
unless and until the FL Dem party offer an opposition candidate who is every bit as exciting and hope-inspiring as Obama was in 2008. As this is about as likely to happen as a snowball's survival chances in hell, we will end up yet again with Rick Scott as governor.

4. And most of those jobs probably resulted from federal stimulus funds and/or are minimum wage

5. Now, is the mainstream press going to get this point across to the public?
Or are they going to drop the ball--again?

7. This is Florida
News outlets in the Sunshine State are either solidly RW or at best right-leaning centrist.

10. His official campaign slogan could be: Never indicted
There just was not enough evidence to bring charges against Scott personally.
