Army Birther Changes Mind About Birth Certificate Thing, Now Wants To Deploy
http://wonkette.com/432638/army-birther-changes-mind-about-birth-certificate-now-wants-to-deploy

Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin, the Army doctor who pleaded guilty on Tuesday to STANDING UP FOR PRESIDENTIAL BIRTH CERTIFICATES, has now told the jury he was wrong to disobey his order to deploy to Afghanistan, and he wishes he could deploy now if he could. It’s funny how the black man who is running the country is suddenly an American citizen when this birther is faced with jail time. Haha, just kidding, Obama still is An Illegal, but Lakin just used the wrong venue to let people know about it. “I was wrong for trying to push this issue within the Army,” he said. Yes, that’s rather difficult when your boss’s boss’s boss’s boss’s boss’s boss’s boss is the man in question.

Lakin explained that he tried for two years to figure out to whom in the Army he could raise his questions about Obama’s eligibility but that he was not given guidance what he should do. He acknowledged he used his deployment as a way to raise the issue and that he knew when he disobeyed orders that his “career was over.”

Also Wednesday the jury heard testimony from two men who had served with Lakin. They described him as a compassionate physician, someone who gave therapeutic massages to soldiers on his own time

And round-the-clock hernia checks. Thanks, doc!

Bullshit!

He refused orders because he wanted to go to trial and try to get the court to make Obama produce his birth certificate.

4. How can someone intelligent enough to be a doctor also be a birther?
Just proves that informational intelligence is not enough.

17. It's amazing the stupidity that people will believe
when they WANT it to be true.

6. he knew when he disobeyed orders that his “career was over.”
So there should be no excuses now....I support a bit of Prison time and a dishonorable discharge and loss of all benefits...He knew the consequences and did it anyway and now wants to punk out....

questions about Obama’s eligibility.

That's rich. Any real questions Lakin may have had were answered in full by the voters. It's called democracy, shithead.

8. I will say this in support of Dr. Lakin
He's showing some buyer's remorse, but he really and actually did commit an act of civil disobedience in furtherance of his beliefs. I think his beliefs are wrong, but he's going to have to take his medicine (npi) just like the folks at the School of the Americas, the sit-in protestors at "whites-only" lunch counters, and the rest.

I'd have a weensy bit more respect for him if he wasn't such a crybaby about it now.

11. New rule.
Standing up for your beliefs isn't a "quality" and isn't worthy of any "respect" when your beliefs are crap.

13. I said I think his beliefs are wrong
But when someone has to pay an actual price for those beliefs, I have to admit that they truly and honestly hold that belief, if nothing else. There's no shortage of times when someone claims to hold some position, but when push comes to shove, they jump off it like a flea in a frying pan. That tells me that the person didn't particularly hold the belief they said they did. Dr. Lakin has thrown away his military career over his misguided beliefs. That shows a great deal more stick-to-it-iveness than the showboats and the grandstanders who are ginning up the nontroversy about the president's place of birth without putting their own neck on the line.

It's entirely possible, and wouldn't surprise me in the least, that Dr. Lakin will take to the lecture circuit to haul in big bucks from the suckers as a professional martyr.

10. Oops, I made a mistake
is that it now? A mistake is forgetting your to-go box, or turning left when you should have turned right. This is no "mistake", this is a racist asshole that didn't want to do his job. Now, he wants to cry "oopsie" because he might actually go to prison. Give him his dishonorable discharge and let him sit in Leavenworth for the time he should have deployed.

18. There's a poster who likes to gleefully brag about how military transgressors will suffer in prison.
Why isn't he bragging about THIS one?
