Dad died Monday at age 91
His service is tomorrow. It was to be delayed until I got back after fire season, but I was thrown under the bus. I'll put the fire lookout in radio silence tomorrow during his funeral. We will have a small service for the columbarium internment after I get back.

I'm sure he would've known you would like to be there, but I bet he wouldn't mind you doing your job instead.

As a veteran, he had to know the meaning of duty and responsibility to one's commitments.

At least you could be there in spirit, and see the proceedings. Is it too late to ask around?

Again, so sorry. Doesn't matter how old he was, or your are, you're still his kid.

86. Such sad news, DemoTex
I am sending peaceful thoughts and all good wishes south on 97, then east until they find you. Central Oregon has been better because of your presence and service to us during this rather grim fire season. You shall be missed.

Your father was a remarkable man who served his country well. How wonderful that he could be a part of your life for such a long and meaningful time.

Blessings.
