in the solace and empathy of one's family and friends.

For the guy who makes consumer products, yeah little bit.

Any other tips for us, Ms. Manners?

You claimed family and friends should mourn, but those who merely like his products should not.

30. Really!
Steve Jobs was well respected for what he accomplished in his too short life (and for our lives), and showing that respect is "cultish & bizarre"! Go figure! (btw - he was only 56 - born 1955)

6. It's a nice tribute to a man who transformed the world.
I hate to tell you this, but Apple computer owners are compassionate people, so I won't say anything mean to your bitter comment.

I know Apple computer owners who were in their 70s long before the WWW was created!!
Imagine that!
People who were retired for years were starting to use computers in their 70s!
And that was back in the 80s!
This phenomenon started in the 70s, in Silicon Valley, in Steve Jobs mind - the home computer.

So, a small tribute like this isn't so much.
It certainly isn't frightening.
It's sort of fitting, seeing that they are post-it notes.
Temporary notes -- reminding all of us that we are only here, temporarily.
Sort of a Buddhist thing, a zen thing.

Please, please try to understand. Not all of us hate the internet or computers.

"Cultish and bizarre", or other pet owners that realize how much it hurts to lose a beloved canine friend?

I'm aghast at this hero worship of just another CEO. He sold computers. Didn't invent the cell phone. Didn't invent the internet. Didn't invent personal computers. Big fucking deal.

One day it'll be supporters of logo "A" launching jihads against supporters of logo "B".

I think we're seeing the replacement of religion. It's logical confluence of tribalism and corporatism.

33. No kidding. You see it in the net neutrality debate.
"In this corner, wearing the red white and blue trunks is Google! In the opposite corner, the challenger, AT&T! Are you ready to Lobby!"

The only involvement the public had in the debate were two corporations claiming to speak for us.
